THE WORD OF ELOHIM
GENESIS
Chapter 27
Second Paragraph:
Often, I have heard spiritual leaders criticize the actions of Ya’akov (Jacob), but I have never heard anyone mention that this plan was Rivqah’s (Rebekah’s)! What possessed her to take such a risk? For the answer, we must go back to her prayer and Yehovah’s response, when the twins were tussling in her womb:
From Genesis, chapter 25, fourth paragraph:
Rivqah conceived. But the children struggled in her womb, and she said, “If so, why do I exist?” She went to inquire of Yehovah, and Yehovah answered her,
Two nations are in your womb,
Two separate peoples shall issue from your body;
One people shall be mightier than the other,
And the older shall serve the younger.”
Surely Rivqah had heard the teachings of Abraham and the stories of Yischaq, concerning the prophesies of their descendents and considering the response she received from Yehovah, when she prayed, she must of discerned that the chosen children of Abraham and Yischaq would come forth from Ya’akov.
– Rivqah’s actions were compelled by the holy spirit of Yehovah, to ensure that the prophesy was fulfilled.
Fifth Paragraph:
Let peoples serve you and nations bow to you; be master over your brothers, and let your mother’s sons bow to you.
Yischaq is referring to more than one brother. I wonder how many children they actually had?
Cursed be they who curse you, blessed they who bless you.
From this, we must believe that Abraham has shared what Yehovah has revealed to him, to his son Yischaq. -
“Who was it then, “he demanded, “That hunted game and brought it to me? Moreover, I ate of it before you came, and I blessed him; now he must remain blessed!”
Why can’t Yischaq take back the blessing or curse Ya’akov for his deception?
We must go back to paragraph two:
When Rivqah is revealing to Ya’akov what Yischaq said to Esav:
“‘Bring me some game and prepare a dish for me to eat, that I may bless you, with Yehovah’s approval, before I die.’”
Yischaq acquiesced/accepted the events that have taken place as Yehovah’s will.
{Esav} said “Was he then, named Ya’akov that he might supplant me these two times? First he took away my birthright and now he has taken away my blessing!”
On line definition of Jacob:
The name Jacob comes from the Biblical story of Jacob's birth where he came out holding the heel of his twin brother, Esau. ... The name comes either from the Hebrew root עקב qb meaning "to follow, to be behind" but also "to supplant, circumvent, assail, overreach", or from the word for "heel", ֵב aqeb
“See, your abode shall enjoy the fat of the earth and the dew of heaven above. Yet by your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but when you grow restive, you shall break his yoke from your neck.”
Again, we must refer back to Genesis, chapter 25, fourth paragraph:
Two nations are in your womb,
Two separate peoples shall issue from your body;
One people shall be mightier than the other,
And the older shall serve the younger.”
Now, Esav has been blessed, according to the will of Yehovah.
