THE WORD OF ELOHIM
GENESIS
Chapter 29
Paragraph 3:
On hearing the news of his sister’s son Ya’akov, Laban ran to greet him; he embraced him and kissed him, and took him into his house.
In Genesis, chapter 24, when the servant of Abraham set out for Charan; he left with 10 camels, laden with provisions and gifts and when he arrived at the home of Rivqah; he gave her, her mother, and her brother gifts. (Gold, silver, and garments)
Why was it that when Ya’akov set out, he seems to be without provisions or gifts? In Genesis, chapter 28, he uses a stone to rest his head. Was it possible that when Yischaq gave him his blessing and sent him away, he failed to think of such things?
-
That’s why when Ya’akov tells Laban “all that happened to him,” Laban responds:
“You are truly my bone and flesh.”
Ya’akov was robbed by a bunch of marauders along the way. – And he knew who they were. (Obadiah verse 10)
Ya’akov was embarrassed to show up in such a poor ragged state and felt that he had to explain himself, in order to justify his circumstances.
Paragraph 5:
The following story has been handed down, through some of the children of Israel:
At the feast, there were a number of people there and much merry making; that included lot’s of food, drink, and music. There were a number of people there, who knew Laban’s plan and they chanted sheisleah, sheisleah, sheisleah and they were making sport of Ya’akov and laughing at him, because of the joke that was about to be played on him. But because of the loud noise and excitement, and their difference in dialect, Ya’akov did not realize what they were says.
Paragraph 6:
There are so many reasons why a couple may or may not be able to have a baby; but whether they do or do not, this is of the Lord. It may not be the woman’s fault either. Sometimes it is because of the man, because Yehovah wishes to cut off his father’s seed or his own.
